Bob, what alloy is leading the pack for sn-pb replacement. Will this alloy adapt itself to component leads? What circuit board finishes will we be dealing with?

Tin/silver/copper is the alloy I have done most with and it would seem that it will be the alloy of choice if you look at the people doing the work. There are still some issues of fillet lifting which I have seen on PIHR soldering and the same in wav

Greg, I totally agree with you that machine settings are very important in wave soldering and soldering in general. I disagree that lead free alloys can produce wetting like in the attached picture (leaded alloy). Lead free alloys have a much higher

It will be helpful to responders if you could list the lead free alloy used for paste and repair.

Mr. Lee, Although most of the lead free alloy used for solder paste and wave soldering have been identified, a suitable alloy used for leaded Ic packages (like QFP, PLCC..etc) have not been identified yet. Do you have any suggestion on this lead-f

Can someone advise if there is any risk if we use lead-free alloy wire during rework for Leaded Process? The reason for this proposal is to only have one type of solder wire being used in the line. This will eliminate any possibility of leaded wire bei

Chris, The Asahi SCS7 is Asahi's attempt at copying the SN100C and is a tin/copper/silicon alloy that melts at 227C so no, it is not a low temperature lead free alloy.

Hi all, Does anybody have any comments on the lead-free alloy SN100C from AIM solder? I am in the process of selecting the "right alloy" for our lead-free wave solder machine. We manufacture A/V equipment. I appreciate your feedback as usual. Hir

We are using SAC305 for reflow and SN100C for our selective solder.
