So there you go Mo, just use these products and you can then mix your alloys! I am sorry that i forgot to mention this aspect! Russ

Lead free SAC solder paste on Sn63 HASL PCBs

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 06 16:31:41 EST 2015 | jacklucas

In switching to lead free processing, we find ourselves having over 400 PCB part numbers with Sn63 HASL finish. And there is no hope of quickly purging inventory and getting our drawings changed to call out a lead free finish. I want to avoid having

BGA Alignment

Electronics Forum | Wed May 02 09:28:20 EDT 2012 | almoore

The surface tension of lead free solder alloys doesn't self align as well as it does with leaded alloys. Taking the guesswork out of alignment would negate the need for expensive split vision systems and make the parts hand reworkable.

Hybrid reflow profile

Sorry theres a mistake on previous question. It should be lead free component termination but non lead free solder alloy Sn63/Pb37. The reflow profile i am using : Soaking temp. 120 to 160 deg C; time 90 to 120 sec. Peak temp. 215 to 225 deg C; time

solder paste alloy effect on high frequency board

hi we use a no clean solder paste with the sn63pb37 alloy and our high frquency board doesn`t have any problem in test but after this product is finished now we use 2 different solder pastes 1. sn62 pb36 Ag.4 RA tape 2. NC type lead free with Ag i

Differences between solder paste alloy SAC305 and SAC405.

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 23 08:08:12 EDT 2021 | SN

Hi. Anyone in this forum experienced the lead-free solder paste SAC305 and SAC405? What are the differences to expect for solder paste with SAC305 and SAC405? What is the effect of silver (Ag) alloy in solder paste? It was really appreciated if could

solder paste alloy effect on high frequency board

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 10 12:20:44 EDT 2007 | slthomas

Does it fail to function or does it function outside of acceptable tolerances? If the latter I wouldn't know what to think, but if the former I would feel obligated to suspect solder quality or maybe even a component problem with the elevated lead-

AOI / Lead-free solder

I am curious whether anyone is experiencing AOI issues in transitioning to lead-free solder inspection.

Re: High temperature solder paste for gold plated MCMs

Tuan - One of the reasons I suggested pre-tinning (aside from the negative effects of Gold on appearance and reliability) is the known slower wetting of Sn/Ag and Sn/Cu alloys as compared to Sn/Pb. If you don't have to be Lead-free, the high Lead

Lead Free solder

Can anyone tell me if there is a volume difference between a pound of lead vs. lead free solder? Does lead free solder attack stainless or castiron when it's not molten? Thanks. Jay
