To our dearest Cunli (maybe not dearest to us all), You have provided us with a vehicle to do SMT and PCB's right the first time, on time, every time, at the lowest cost while meeting customer quality and reliability requirements we say is necessar

quoting smt assembly

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 23 09:27:30 EST 1999 | mike d

Good morning. I am currently in the process of validating our quoting process in comparison to what our colleagues are doing. If anyone could let me know what is the average cost per component for their smt operations I would really appreciate it.

Where do I Start?

Electronics Forum | Mon Sep 23 12:37:56 EDT 2002 | genny

OK, back into the fray after being silent for several days. Yes maybe I was a little cranky. Sorry about that. However, I was starting from scratch, I knew nothing. I was nowhere near the point of evaluating whether XYZ machine was better than 12

SMT Terms

OK, here is stupid question #..... oh, I lost track. While looking at a BOM I notice a lot of parts with "SMT" in the description. This is obviously Surface Mount. What do "SMB" and SMD" mean? I just know I will feel stupid when I read the answer.

Land Pattern Discrepencies

Electronics Forum | Sat Mar 25 00:02:17 EST 2006 | rpowell

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to SMT PCB design and am running into some frustration with the land pattern design of "standard" smt components in particular passive chip components. It seems each manufacturer (Yageo, Rohm, Panasonic) has their own

Question for everyone regarding part placement on the SMT line (feeder position)

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 28 15:27:57 EST 2020 | jede

Let me rephrase my question. How do you avoid having errors in your SMT set up? IE xxx part goes in feeder slot 55. We currently have our quality department do a machine check but small errors like this can still go unnoticed.
