low cost SMT line

I am going to disagree with that. Our QP242 wasn't worth a crap when it came to reliably placing BGA's. The lighting parameters and the programming will have you tearing your hair out. If you are doing outline recognition on small BGA's...then maybe.

We designed small PCBs (typically 2"x5")for our some of our products for quite some time now. We did not use PCB extensively and just hand-produced everything but... We now use them more and more and they got more sophisticated. we're heading for 20

Ultra low cost pick & place?

Electronics Forum | Tue May 13 08:24:18 EDT 2008 | cyber_wolf

Anything that can handle the standard SMT packages of today has to be precision. The machines have to be built rigid, and cannot be made of sub-standard components. I have worked with placement machines since the late 80's. The machines that work th

Hi, I off center idea we used when we started. Get a pasta cooker, and put in vapor phase fluid, and then use that. Place the product in the bottom of the inner pot, and then heat on a small hot plate. When the vapor cloud gets high enough and the

Yes, this is a good point and really only time will tell just how reliable such a machine becomes. What I'm aiming for is to simplify and reduce the number of sub-assemblies. For example we are building the camera/vision processor and lighting into

By "dark grey color" do you mean with the histogram? Red or black maybe, but grey? Are you using a color camera? Can you use a reverse image? Does a bare unsoldered joint appear bright or reflective under red lighting? You could look for a low wh
