Anti Magnetic Environment

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 22 17:32:21 EDT 2012 | icin

I recently heard an interesting requirement and wanted to poll the fine members of this forum for what their interpretation would be, and if any standard would exist: "Maintain the bill of material in an anti-magnetic environment." Thanks in advanc

That would be easy to check. Degaus the whole nozzle not just the tip. It should take more than a week to become magnetized again. If it becomes magnetic sooner maybe degauss the head? I would also make sure your vacuum does not come on till the noz

Why can my bare PCB be magnetized?

Hi Fluxgate, Doubt it's the laminate unless you have embedded components. Nickel is ferromagnetic (can be magnetised),so I would expect some level of magnetism in ENIG, but not silver. Are you 100% sure it was immersion silver and not something

Hi Rob, I did check with the board house, and the confirmed that there was no Nickel plating, but that the silver went straight onto the copper in their immersion silver process. Interestingly I've even tested an unplated sample from that board hou

I've been tasked with identifying what world class quality should be for my company's products (custom military/avionics power suppliers & custom transformers/inductors/magnetics, see http://www.hirelsystems.com for more info). I can't get a shred o

thanks for the opinion, dun think we want to drill the machine tables, due to SMT line config : 1) printer, 1unit machine 2) chip shooters, 3 units machine 3) IC mounter, 1 unit machine plus the potential void of machine warranty by the drilling,

Magnet Fields v.s. Electronics

As we all know, we should keep magnets away from electronics, can this be backed up with studies? I am looking for any info about specifics on this subject. Exactly what is bad and what is ok? Can the field be measured with a Gauss Meter and if so wh
