Hi Morris, I work as a technical consultant, application specialist for Philips EMT (SMT machine suplier). For cost per placement complex calculation can be made. To make a easy one just to hav an idea you can use following. Information needed: Pr

| I am working on trying to define a cost per placement measure in our SMT assembly operations. | | Does anyone know where I might find a published industry average that we may compare to? | | Ive heard it stated that an industry average is less t

I think you need to define what it is you are looking for. Changeover time, Efficiency and measuring run time to your quaoted time are important, as is quality. You need to look at all of these things to determine the "health". It does you no good

ECD's OvenRIDER is the only instrument I know that can measure thermal transfer efficiency of a an oven. I suppose it would work for environmental chambers too. This instrument has thermocouples to measure ambient temp of oven zones and well as hi-ma

If the machine is not capacity constrained, what is the point of measuring how close to the optimum efficiency that it is operating? * Capacity of individual machies are unimportant, unless they are capacity contrained * Capacity of your line is depe

We are doing a field study to test the placement accuracy and calculate cpk of some machines in our plant. From previous readings, it is suggested that you buy glass board kits from Accuspec, Topline, etc. Is that the easiest/cheapest way to go abo

Forget what the machine's max. placement cycle rate is spec'd for. For each board you assemble time the actual placement rate. To do this start the stop watch the instant the camera is positioned over the first fiducial on the first board, then stop
