ERP/ MRP systems can do basic traceability but often fall through as make a lot of asumptions and can not capture realtime info and account for all possible situations. I have seen alot of companies do this and there is always a 'shoe horned' system.

Also look at GenRad. They offer the complete line of Assembly Programming, Test Development, SCADA, and MES software. Also there is UniCAM, Circuit CAM.

there are Maintenance - Asset management systems available but usually part of a bigger MES system, bar code driven etc, keep databases on feeders, machines, trigger times to inspect etc etc but no cheap...
