Hi all, Does anybody meet large size of tape cavity in 0603 components? It is a serious problem in some vendors that their tape tolerance is very large. It lead to our fallout rate abnormal high. What is standard tape cavity size? Why the componen

Mr. Wilson, Have you considered bulk feeders, some issues with it but it but lees than a 3% loss on 100 placements. Component availability is one thing, getting them in the correct media is another.

Hi, Yes, I would love to know this as well. Our machines can handle the component sizes, but how do the printers handle it? We have a DEK, and that's a good printer, but how do you design the stencil to reliably paste release on components this smal

Oddly enough, I find it more often than not that the supply type is not mentioned in the data sheets. And if the original author was saying 0603 in a metric package, then it would be in 8x2 tape. Even in the US, some companies use the metric names

Hello Mark, I cant provide any hands on feedback with 0402 packages but we are using a no clean process with 0603 devices. Here are some parameters which will affect solder balling. Stencil thickness, aperture size, paste viscosity, snap off and bot

Genny, you may want to look at the brds you will be running and identify the various packages. I do not know what a standard package is. Most chip resistor and capacitors, 0402, 0603, 1206, 1210's are on 8mm feeders, but ic's vary quite a bit. Also r

Have you confirmed in an SEM that the break is in the solder and not in the termination? If not in the termination, is it in the intermetallic rather than the bulk solder? It's unusual for the break to be in the solder joint when chips are knocked

Hi all, At our Fuji CP-6 machines we place a lot of 0402:s, 0603:s and 0805:s chip capacitors. Our problem is that the height of the components can sometime be very extreme from different vendors. I am sure you all have experience of this phenomenon

Russ, Your math is right, but you are converting the wrong direction. I belive: 0201s use millimeters for specification sizes, not inches. And 01005 use millimeters for specification sizes, not inches. And it may be like that for all passives, bu
