Squeegee blades

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 23 20:21:44 EST 1999 | Curtis T.

Does any one have any experience with the transition automation permalex squeegee blade (I called them and they couldn't tell me much), or any blade other than the typical nickle coated spring steel. Part of our production has been moved (by our cus

We have been using TA permalex blades for year, they work great! They will even work with you on custom designed blades to fit custom blade holders. If you're having trouble with solder paste sticking to the blades contact the vendor for some solut

Are these blades coated with something like PTFE (teflon)? If so does the coating flake off over time. Incidently I just got a pice quote and they are 4.5X that of our standard MPM nickel plated spring steel, so I wanted to make sure they would last

Curtis, They have a 'permalex' coating bonded to the metal. We see no signs of flaking. They are pricey but they do work, we had metal blades from the OEM, they were absolute trash (not MPM). We run 16-6 and they last at least 4 to six months in

Screen Printing using metal blades

For fine pitch components we would suggest slow movement of metal squeegee. The effect of angle is minimal. You may check squeegees from Transition Automation they can help you with the holder and the best squeegee. I do not have the web site, Arman

Dear experience members, Now we are using permelex squeegee blade and we do cleaing it after printing 24 hours. Actually, it took very long time to clean. we need to take out one by one screw and use bemcot paper/ alcohol to clean solder remaining on

Rheopump vs. squeegee

What kind of quality improvements could be expected by implementing MPM's Rheopump instead of using squeegee blades on a stencil printer?

Rheopump vs. squeegee

I have found all the advantages (that others have spoken about) are true. One thing to look at is the quick disconnect system that MPM offers which will reduce changeover times to almost the same as blades. It's well designed and so far, for us, has

Rheopump vs. squeegee

I have had some conversations with MPM about the Rheo pump. They have some data to support the change from an ROI standpoint. One of their customers has seen a dramatic decline in the amount of wasted paste, resulting in a very large cost savings.

Rheopump vs. squeegee

We've tried the MPM rheo., with excellent results. We saw a decrease in fine-pitch pad coverage rejects from ~20% to bacicially ~0%. Print speeds went from 1-2 in/sec (metal blade) to 4-5 in/sec (rheo.). Could probably go faster. Great throughput. Li
