You should be able to find this in the utilities menu under calibrate machine. (If your software is the same as my Momentum) If not, give MPM service a ring. They will help you.

If its the same as a Momentum then no you do not need to use jigs. There is a "global offset" field that allows you to add background offsets. The glass plate jig calibration procedure only needs to be used after a major crash or if you feel the need

I would like to request your expertise on which pasta printer to purchase: MPM Momentum + EKRA XPRT 3 Both of them are refurbished/ reaconditoned. The MPM includes several perpetual Software licenses but it is almost double the price of the EKRA

Actually the correct way to fix this is to carefully remove the belt on the rear of the machine that connects the left and right rail lead screws together. Square the rails then carefully re-install the belt *without turning either of the lead screws
