Hi, MYDATA's are ok for lower volume, and they are very flexible. If you only have 1 or 2 trays of components and are on a tight budget, then you can even place the trays on the Y wagon behind the PCB so you can get away without the tray wagon. Al

In a past life I ran F1 systems post placement / pre reflow behind a MyData My12E, so it didn't exactly have to keep up with a speedy chip shooter, but it did pretty well. The AOI would end up being the bottle neck some of the time, but not because

We have inline reworkers, so this time has been factored in. We currently use Siemens S25/20 machines with M1 systems. The placement machines run a little slower than the AOI at times so there is time to perform review, most of the time. It's not

A philips Topaz is a good machine, I have accurately placed 0402's without a problem, Fine pitch QFP no problem, BGA's not a problem, I am not familiar with the TP9 so hopefully the other guy can answere questions on that, The Topaz is rated at about

I was not trying to imply that you didn't know how to run these machines I was simply saying that alot of problems that people may encounter can be solved with operating them correctly, I am sorry if you took offense to this, I too have performed all

When to implement high speed pick and place machines?

Take a look at the ROI tools supplied my MyData and others and draw inspiration from there. Presumably if you are looking at a higher speed line you are looking at higher throughput than you currently achieve or possibly fewer/shorter shifts? The eco

MYDATA Myspeed software is total junk

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 11 03:43:51 EST 2005 | Scott B

We have had similar problems and have abandoned use of MySpeed. I don't know what version of Mydata software you are running but have started to use the 'Hydra Preparation' function within TpSys 2.3 to arrive at optimised set-ups. Mydata advise that

We have had very good after sale support from Mycronic (Mydata). They can do high volume (speed) but where they outperform many other brands is their lower setup times. If you do high mix, low/medium volume I would recommend them.
