J-STD-001C, 7.2.1 Flux Application says words to the effect of: When an external flux is used in conjunction with flux cored solders, the fluxes shall be compatible. Regardless of whether these are or not flux cored solders, this begs the question:

Kris, Weigh very carefully the above caveat with regard to IPA. I would ask for documentation to substantiate this claim, which likely stems from a desire to sell "his" chemistry, while "slamming" competition. I'll be happy to run some tests for you

Well first off I wouldn't evaluate paste for a wave process. I would use solder bar instead. Flux - top side fillets and no shorting on the solder side, does it clean well after processing if using water soluble flux. How wide is the process win

For ICT purposes I may need to print solder paste on 0.015" test vias. No-clean is not an option for this assembly and OA seems the only choice. Can flux be safely removed from inside the via from the other side during a standard water wash process

If the supplier has prescribed the storage temperature between 0 - 10 degree celsius, then it means that it work effectively if stored in that temperature range.

Hi, I think that the jet printer is going to work for your process - the key with this device is to maintain it really good so you don't get any clogs. These are very fast devices.

Phil Zarrow wrote a useful paper that could help in evaluating paste. Here read it ... Evaluating Solder Paste Not An Option Contributed by Phil Zarrow of ITM an Independent SMT consulting firm With soldering being the dominant source of assembly
