Checked the archives with no luck. Anyone have a reliable test method of verifying acrylic conformal coat cure. Using Humiseal 1B31 mixed with approximately 30% solvent, spraying with a Nordson. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know of a good gasketing material that will hold up over time in a select coat fixture?

NASA is concerned about outgassing in high-vacuum environments. They select materials to minimize outgassing. http://outgassing.nasa.gov/og_desc.html

Thanks, we'll try this too. We aquired an asymtek millenium for dispensing selectively. It is setup for epoxies with a needle dispense head so we'll try to make it all work for us. One-part silicones seem to be the popular solution.

We are developing a new product that requires conformal coating on the motor controller. We selected a silicone based conformal coat due to its ease of use. There has been disagreement among engineers as to its impact on the motor. We have contact

Hi BJ, Everyone's favourite answer...it depends! If the volume if large, masking boots will save you both, time and money in the long run. Custom boots are relatively expensive to buy, but they pay themselves over time by savings on masking tape. ma

Todd, All liquid coatings are Newtonian - they follow gravity so they do indeed run away from sharp leads and edges. Silicones are generally worse because they have very low surface energy - although this is an asset when trying to get under compone
