Martin, may I ask what your offer is? Does the pick and place machine vendor provide you with a special nozzle, which would not require the peel off cover. Custom nozzles from the OEM are quite expensive, because they implement engineering and test.

Try switching to a polymer nozzle. Your machine manufacturer may sell them on any machine shop can mill you one. Also check to see if your pick and place had a puff off function. Some older machines have a mechanical adjustment on the mac valve used

Has anyone changed the PD on this part lately. Sounds like a program (PD) issue. Nozzle size should be .7mm. Narrow view should be selected. Tape leaf cover on feeder should be .7mm. Make sure parts aren't on the camera lens. Good luck!

FYI SME offers a replacement Tape leaf detection system which covers the whole range of FUJI CP4-CP7 machines.its also very reasonably priced. It doesn't use Fibre Sensors or mirrors. it only has 1 adjustment which is height via Eccentric screw. even
