This is a GREAT question!!!! Our process is similar, but our times are greater. Guess it's all dependant on the pressure on the pipe, eh? The faster money goes flying out the window, the less time there is for nicities.

Solder Mask Specification

It's usually up to the board house. They use their lines to make a variety of other customers boards and never want to be locked into using a special mask. I'd task your QC department to catch and return these boards. That usually straightens out

Parts on Bottom during top reflow

Does anybody know how I work out how heavy a part I can have on the bottom side of the board while reflowing top. Obviously there is a tie between the footprint in the paste and the surface tension of solder paste, but what is it ?

Paul, You might check out the "McDry" line of humidity control devices. They are marketed through SEIKA Machinery, Inc. Give Hiro a call @ (310) 540-7310 Ext. 125 He has been a real good resorce for SMT solutions. Jonathan

Am abit confused here, so suggestion is not to manual rework solder the 0201, and rather to cut em' out, with the cut shear applied at the end-terminals? elaborate pls? thanks

Hand Solder - time alloted per lead

If you allow 3 seconds for insertion of each connector and 2-3 seconds for each solder joint, then add a 10-12% contingency allowance you shouldn't be far out. Maybe get an averagely rated operator to build one on the clock. Regards, Chris
