Could be lots of things. With limited information about temperatures, solder alloy, and cleaning; we'll swing for the fence that you got these solder connections very hot. So hot that Pb oxide is dominating the solder joint surface instead of the

What rubber had or the liquid medicines spreads has been possible to guard against the oxidation?

Does anybody know how could I clean pcbs with immersion silver finising ? I have several boards that got oxidized for having been waiting too long to be processed after opening the package.

the flux in the solder paste should take care of the oxides. if possible print a board and run thru reflow to check for wetting issues......there are some published papers that say that the tarnish layer is too small to create any wetting issues or o

Oxidation on termination of smd chip capacitor

I observed some black dot or some oxidation occured on chip termination on pcba reflowed fews weeks ago as buffer stock. The solder joint and fillet wetting is good and shinning. It is an acceptable or defect condition per IPC standard/requirement? W

I seriously doubt it. It is extremely thin and the gold's only real purpose in life is protect the nickel underneath from oxidizing. Once you wear that very thin gold off you will have exposed, oxidized, nickel and loss of conductivity.

Oxidation on PCB's

Has anyone come across a standard or study (JEDEC, IPC) where it has the recommended shelf life outside of a dry box for immersion silver coated PCB's to prevent oxidation from affecting the soldering process (Both reflow and Wave). I know it will

how can i be sure that the device isn`t affected by moisture ? i mean that if the pins are oxidized due to the moisture how can i remove this oxidization ?
