SMD module moving during reflow

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 18 23:24:05 EDT 2019 | SMTA-David

Hi, I have a SMD radio module that has castellated Pads along one edge of the module. The pick and place machine appears to place them very well but when the boards come out of the reflow oven then up to 20% of them have either rotated a few degrees

First I apologize for my poor English writing. we have no heat sink fins and active cooling with power module. when the board is transported, the vibration of board and power module will shotten the solder joint lifetime. if we just solder it withou

the current design must be a die-up one, so routing for a flip-chip on board will be a bit difficult. it almost HAS to be wire bonded, to me...

I'm not exactly sure of your problem...but I'll give it a shot. I assume the screw is on the solder side of the board. If you wave solder the screw the head will fill in with solder. Try a water solouble mask or peelable laytex mask over the screw

Wow that's thin. We do lots of flex = similar thickness. We do most on a router but in a pinch we cut them out with a good pair of scissors.

We have GSM1 running USOS V1.41 and I would like to buy "Enhanced board set-up" software module for it. As UIC does not support our machine any more does anybody have it and wants to sell/share it? - Deni
