0402 placement skew

If your pads are raised as you mentioned, you will reach just the tip of your tiny glue dot, which may not hold the part in place. However, you should be using two glue dots on each side of your 0402 component. See under adherence force in paste a

Placement theta (rotation) adjustment

Here are the basics for theta issues in teaching: 1. CAD part library should match machine part library orientation. 2. If your placement orientation is correct and your feeding orientation(orientation in your feeder) is correct, there should be no

Placement theta (rotation) adjustment

In trying to have things run smoothly with placement, I have to do a lot of theta adjustment to get the rotation right during placement. Even if the part looks good on the PnP machine screen sometimes it places differently than what is shown. If I u

As Evitomov says, provided you check everything is setup correctly there should be no issue. There can be some variation between manufacturers as to how they package certain components. For example 2512 resistors are usually in 12mm tape with a 4mm s

Hi everyone, this is my first time on this forum. I've only been an innocent bystander. Until now. I wonder if anyone out there knows of any technical publication (accessible over the net) that explains, in detail, the actual physics involved regardi

Whoo-doggies Jason, you said a mouthfull!! (GRIN) Anyways, 'member what I said about me being a pack-rat? Guess what? I found some documentation that I've had for a while that does document the self-alignment forces that goes on when reflowing. I ha

Make sure that your mesh conveyor drive chain is not jumping a sprocket tooth. This will cause the conveyor to "pop" and you will have skewed parts. I seriously doubt that it is your profile causing skew. It is more than likely something mechanical.

For reflow, low soak time and low peak temperatures will help reduce the number of components skewing Search the fine SMTnet Archives. For instance: http://www.smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=6071&mc=15
