Hi, Need some assitance from people that have experience with qualification for Lead-Free SMT process. We are in a phase to qualify Lead-Free process to one of our new product. The BOM - build of material is complete but we missing some passive com

What kind of parts are on the bottom? Small passives are very unlikely (won't unless other abnormal factors come into play) to fall off when reflowed a second time regardless of temperature differential. There is a simple weight/soldered surface ar

Set Up Guy, I am not sure if the COB you are refering to means Circuit on Board . If yes, this process also include SMT . Package is a combination of some passive components and bare die. Passives are normally attached thru SMT using solder te

TL;DR: I like internal part numbering systems for passive chips and the like, and keeping MPNs for active components (or components with many variants and/or options that could be easily confused as equivalents). I've always been a fan of internal

Does anybody have any experience or knowledge of processing PCB assemblies featuring pyroelectric sensor devices, the type used in Passive Infra-Red Sensor modules? Since these devices are, by definition, very sensitive to heat, how do you get round

We have a new program that is going to require us to add many leads to presently leadless parts. It isn't preferred by we are up against the wall. We will be doing mostly passive caps, resistors and diodes and some LCC's as well. Is there any one

we have just started wave soldering passive SMT components and through hole. We are having trouble with voids on the SMT components. It is very random, but effects a lot of TSOT's. We are using an electrovert with a chip wave. Are there any obvio

| I am designing a component for surface mount. Does anybody out there specialize in the design of passive components for SMT? Can you recommend a good reference? | Raffi - Many companies have their own specs for parts, but I suggest you check

We are searching for an integrated passive component (or device) consisting of a resistor in series with a capacitor in an 0805 package. Cap value is .01uF, resistor value up to 1 meg. Any suggested sources appreciated. Miked@emcohighvoltage.co

Hi Folks, This is my first surface mount board, so I asked our assembly house for some tips. They said only passives on the bottom side-preferably no smaller than 0805, 0603 only if I have to. I would think that an SOT-23 would be OK on the bottom.
