solder paste for 200 degs c continuous operation?

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 21 13:47:16 EDT 2012 | jax

To have an Operating Temp (Tool Classification) within your range, you might want to try. PB85 (Pb85/Sb10/Sn5) SMT is normally processed using Vapor Phase but can also be achieved with Nitrogen assisted Convection Reflow depending on size and compl

High Melting Point Solder Paste

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 28 08:51:45 EST 2009 | jax

What solder are you talking about and what reflow method are you using? High Melt Alloys: SN96 (Sn96/Ag4 or Sn96.5/Ag3.5) - Simliar to SAC305 although normally uses Rosin based flux that can required more extensive cleaning. Pb85 (Pb85/Sb10/Sn5) -

HMP Lead free solder?

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 01 14:22:57 EDT 2005 | James

What is the total Pb after dip? If it is above 85% you should still be fine as you have created a homogenous material.

Sn/Pb diffusion

As I thought..... This is probably why most journals and standards I have studied hold shy of even attempting to predict shelf life. They certainly hold off of any predictions when based on accelerated life testing too. The component lead is a cop

Sn43Pb43Bi14 Solder

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 16 21:53:51 EDT 2002 | davef

We don't use Sn43Pb43Bi14 solder. We don't make high performance circuit boards that are subjected to temperatures from -55 Celsius to +85 Celsius and vibration requirments at 6g. We don't like bismuth solder alloys, because: * Fatigue life is r

SAC solder balls reflow with Sn/Pb paste - Voids Issue

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 04 14:48:49 EDT 2006 | cw

My soak at 150C - 180C for approx. 85sec to 100sec. I believe this is sufficient. I can't change my paste because customer wants to use SnPb paste with SAC solder balls. They claimed that they have sucessful result with other CM. I need to know if

Sn/Pb diffusion

Electronics Forum | Fri May 17 15:53:47 EDT 2002 | davef

Based on what youve said, comments are: * There is no reason not to expect a trace of Zn in your 85/15 Sn/Pb solderability protection, but Sn/Cu IMC are more prevalent than Zn. * Intermetallic growth and oxidation are very different materials proper

Sn43Pb43Bi14 Solder

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 12 10:33:02 EDT 2002 | Gary Bremer

Does anyone have experience using Sn43Pb43Bi14 solder on high performance circuit boards that are subjected to temperatures from -55 Celsius to +85 Celsius and vibration requirments at 6g? What companies/industries do you know that are using this s

First documented case of tin whisker formation

Electronics Forum | Fri May 12 03:33:10 EDT 2006 | slaine

Interesting document. They are using a very high tin content alloy 99.5%SN, and suggest they can cange to a 90/10 PbSn alloy that will still mean they meet the RoHS Directive as alloys over 85% lead are exempt within RoHS. so if they used this they c

Pb Free Voids

Fellas: I'm having a tough time with voiding with my lead free water soluble paste under my large BGAs. I know some is almost inevitable, but this is more than I'd like. This is with a slope of .9, soak of 60 seconds, above 217 for 85 seco
