It does. I looked into the Cookson/P.C. kit, and it looks like a good deal. So, I'll go with that. (We're already running Pb free, but we'd like solid hard data for customers) Thanks all.

I have two questions that maybe someone can answer? 1. Can or should lead free components be used with standard 63/37 processes? including sn/pb pcb's? 2. Can or should sn/pb components be used for lead free process? I have recieved mixed feeling

Will component manufactuers need to look at possible new coatings for pins when to be used in a PB- free enviroment? PT 2 Will new solder joint inspection criteria have to be developed for the use of lead free solder?

yes you can use lead-free components and/or lead-free solder paste on Sn/Pb PCBs. You do get reliable joints. as already mentioned, it doesn't meet the WEEE and RoHS requirement. Indy

Anyone with definitive reliability data on mixing thru hole lead free terminations (SAC and Sn/Cu) with Sn/Pb solder. Seems like a lot of conflicting information

Bob, what alloy is leading the pack for sn-pb replacement. Will this alloy adapt itself to component leads? What circuit board finishes will we be dealing with?

Thanks Jay, Concerning your FR4 material, do you keep the same TG than what you use with Sn/Pb? Response from everybody would be also appreciate. Thanks and regards, Frank R.
