Eric, There are a lot of factors leading to lose components. Suppose your machine works properly. Firstly, is there any gap between the support pins and PCB? If yes, the components may be dancing during placement. Have you checked the placement s

Our observation also is that the tape size is too big for the chip which allows the tape to move around. With this i would like to know if there is is a setting in the machine that would slow the feeding rate. We are using juki mounter 2000 series. A

Too fast heating/cooling rate in reflow (look at mfg's spec.). Z "overdrive" on pick and place or chipshooter though unlikely I would say. Depanelization method (bending a scored board to break it is tough on things). Bad PCB design - cap. too clo

DST, What was the crack signature? Was the crack parallel with the internal electrodes or 45 with the terminal electrode? It is also important to determine the orientation of the failed caps on the PCB (in regards to depaneling). Perhaps the cap

From my perspective, I like marked parts because I can use AOI to verify the correct parts are being placed in production. If an operator is going to load the wrong reel, I prefer to find out on the first PCB rather than after 5000 wrong parts have b

What kind/brand of machine are we talking about? Are the missing parts randomly distributed or are specific to a feeder/placement/pattern? Does your machine remember where to resume placement if you reset it in the middle of a pattern placement? We h

Hi A lot of good answers. "No verification was done on the part as it was deemed to be a "straight replacement". Sound familiar?" Yes this sounds familiar, yet I am never sure it is a new supplier or component problem. It could be that the old par
