Hi, I have pcbs (Duroid/RT 5880) with raw copper, soldered in vapour-phase chamber at 230 degrees Celsius. During soldering, copper gets tarnished. Cleaning with Vigon A250 removes the tarnished layer. Indeed, in the VigonA250 techn. datasheet it is

Hi Dave, Immersion Ag has poor surface appearances after reflow or rather tarnished, while Immersion Tin requries higher temp. Probably that's why Immersion Ag is more preferred.

Has anyone built using the ALIVH PCB (0402, 0.8mm pitch uBGA) on the SMT line? I would like to know any process issues (paste printing, p&p, reflow) related to processing this pcb. Specifically, what type of solder paste was used (no clean) and wha

I am considering using a vapor degreaser to clean PCB's after they emerge from our wave. Does anyone have experince with this process that they would be willing to share?

We are using so called no-clean fluxws for our small batch production, however the results are not always very visualy pleasing with white powdery deposits being the norm. I would like advise on the best avenue to explore for a small batch cleaning s

arent there environmentally friendly solvents (i have seen some from 3M) that can be used in a vapor degreaser. i was also planning to use the vapor degreaser to clean boards prior to conformal coating

HI We start to make a product which have a 0.4 mm pitch IC and start having problems with not enough solder printed, to solve this problem we had to increase the manual cleaning, now we are cleaning the stencil every 8 printings, before we was runnin

I am a lay person researching the application of non-woven material in stencil rolls either using branded material or non-branded alternatives for DEK, MPM Panasonic machines in SMT environments. I have read a number of articles referring to aqueous

Flashback time Vapor degreasers, although still used in limited applications, no longer represent the conventional wisdom (due to multiple environmental issues). Aqueous-based technologies are the most common method of defluxing. Unlike most va

Of course there are solvents which are less harmful to the environment than others. The operative phrase is less harmful. As a rule, water-based chemistries are greener than solvents. There are some solvent blends designed for aqueous-based eq
