wave soldering + header connector assembling problem

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 05 13:19:45 EST 2007 | slthomas

Call me jaded, but this sounds suspiciously like the classic "our other supplier didn't have this problem" but the other supplier was hand soldering the headers, and finally requoted the job with that in mind so the customer moved on. Granted, ther

Thanks guys. Here are more details. The cards are essentially the same. They use the same connectors, same footprint, the traces / layers would be comparable etc. The difference between the 2 we see is that one is laminate - Rigid Metal Clad Base, Ty

Trouble selective soldering fine pitch connectors

We are having difficulty with bridging on a 2x50 pin 0.050" fine pitch connector using our selective soldering machine. It usually bridges at the end of the row, but sometimes it bridges all the pins together as it drags across (solid bridging). I

I think machine selection depends upon your application (pitch, volume, changeover from pb to pb free etc...) I have experience with ERSA and Pillarhouse Jades. Both very good in their own right. Pillarhouse are relatively cheap, and quick to chan
