Will component manufactuers need to look at possible new coatings for pins when to be used in a PB- free enviroment? PT 2 Will new solder joint inspection criteria have to be developed for the use of lead free solder?

Hello We introduced OSP finish on some of our products but now need to add some discretes at the end of the process. From my little knowledge of OSP, this is difficult. We'll SMT the boards and transfer them to another site for further processing.

Any recommendations for a good PIN FRIENDLY PB-Free ROLO solder paste? My process is OSP double-sided reflow with PTH wave soldering.

Are there any good solutions for getting good barrel fill on PTH boards using Pb Free solder and No Clean flux. All of our boards are having issues getting minimum required fill per IPC. It does not matter if the board is 062 or thicker, any pin conn

We are having difficulty with bridging on a 2x50 pin 0.050" fine pitch connector using our selective soldering machine. It usually bridges at the end of the row, but sometimes it bridges all the pins together as it drags across (solid bridging). I

Would suggest you have a re-look at your reflow profile. There could possibly be a higher thermal demand to solder the Pb-free version of these screw terminals considering that external plating has changed.

Sounds like the Pin in Paste would be a reflow technique not involving a pot. I'm guessing however the same causes are in play, in that the poorer wetting of the Pb-free allow means it drops out of the joint before it can wet to the terminal. We us

I have been working on Pb-free assemblies of screw terminals (terminal blocks). Unlike, other pin-in-paste conducive components, these component has square headed leads. We have been facing issues with the solder dripping into the oven. We were able
