Double Sided Reflow

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 22 12:04:31 EST 2005 | John S

Thanks for the advice. In this scenario we are designing our own product. Currently we are building at a prototype level with no appreciable wait between reflow passes. The part in question is a 64 pin QFP. We use a BTU VIP 98 with edge conveyor.

ENIG Thickness

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 12 12:13:52 EDT 2005 | John S

We are moving into fine pitch components. 64 pin QFPs and the like. We've chosen an ENIG pcb finish to help with flatness of the pads, but the pcb vendor has asked for a thickness specification. Can anyone provide a recommendation? It seems like

Tooling for double sided SMT

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 18 09:52:36 EDT 2005 | pjc

FormFlex and the GridLok system will not work on a semi-automatic printer. They were designed for fully automatic machines. The print table is very shallow on the DEK 248, SMTechs and MPM SPM, UP100 and MicroFlex. DEK should have magnetic base suppor

Selective soldering justification

Electronics Forum | Thu May 12 10:09:11 EDT 2005 | LUPO

HI, What are advantages and disadvantages of selective sodlering process? Does anyone have any experience with selective soldering machines SEHO? Is it possible soldering of through-hole pins on PCB close to high frequency of the SMT componen

Selective soldering justification

Electronics Forum | Thu May 12 11:56:42 EDT 2005 | pr

Ersa Versaflow has a nozzle we use for soldering 70 pin connectors, with smt parts 3mm from the leads. As far as soldering through hole (without the tight SMT parts)It's reliable, easy to program and very good quality joints. Your advantages are spee

GSM Old vision system AIS 3500

Need a wiring info from somebody who have the schematics for a GSM running the old vision system AIM 3500. There's 2 cables plugging in the vision box, "vision DigA" & "vision DigB" with DB15 connector. I need the pin out of these 2 cables to con

Wave Solder Non wetting holes

Electronics Forum | Thu May 19 17:03:11 EDT 2005 | splice1

Hi all, There are no ground layers which makes the non wetting rate a bit confounding. The foam fluxer has not been cleaned in a while though, while there is a strong evidence of fluxing by running blank paper and looking up the top side

fine pitch QFP

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 16 00:24:29 EDT 2005 | mskler

Hi everybody, Can some body tell me that what stencil thicknes is required for the 16mil QFP. I am getting bridging as well as dry at QFP pins. What type of solder 1. Viscocity 2. mesh size 3. flux contents Should be used for this type

Reflow solder issues with 6pin SOT's

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 09 13:15:27 EDT 2005 | davef

Initial points for investigation are: * What temperatures are you measuring on the leads that do not reflow well? [How does this match with the paste supplier's recommendation?] * Does the component take solder after being dunked in the solder pot? *

Quad/Tyco feeder parts any other vendors?

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 07 09:57:43 EST 2005 | james

Does anyone else know where you can purchase parts for quad 8mm feeders instead of directly buying them from TYCO. In the past 2 months their costs went up over 50%. I order the pins already from another vendor but that is it. Thanks
