We run Panasonic chipshooters, so our small nozzles are not cylindrical. We would use the smallest nozzle we have on our heads which I believe is a Panasonic "MF" size, the same nozzle we'd use for 0603 size components.

Fred, I believe the body of the SOT363 is too small for that size nozzle. http://www.diodes.com/products/catalog/package_images/sot363.gif

I've seen the tool head move components if the component list isn't grouped according to size. If you group your taller components higher than the others then they will be placed later. I used to see a lot of shifting with large keyhole vias used

This type of component packages works best with vision type: 254 - irregular. Measure the total package length including the leads. Also set the body dimension x-y tolerances to at least 0.35mm and the the pick up x-y tolerences to 0.5mm in the part

Are you using MCS1 or MCS2 software on the MCS16? For MCS1 I would have to try and remember, haven't seen that software in 20 years. For MCS2 in the PD make sure nozzle size, nozzle size min, and nozzle size max are all set to Med.
