We've had several instances of parts (1206R, SOT-23) popping off of their location during reflow. Parts placement is OK, paste brick is aligned and compact before oven. But we get random parts off their location just lying somewhere else on the boar

We have a new Heller 1809 EXL reflow oven and when we run MELFs or Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors through the oven they are being blown off the pads. I have verified that the placement is good before reflow. I verified that they are pushed down

Hi James Short answer... yes... long answer...impingement velocity is excellent for heat transfer but it also is a higher risk of moving components. Variable speed blowers allow you to reduce the speed / impingment and more than likly your compone

there is an IPC standard for machine accuracy and repeatability. Here it is how it works. You have to place certain number of parts on a specially designed PCB(that allows placing variety of parts on big part of the machine work area). After that you

One other thing to check is your PEC camera. Universal uses a jig to calibrate this camera but you could check it using this method. 1.Run about ten 0402 parts on tape with the PEC camera off and check placement. If the placement is off change the x\

If the placement is off the same amount everytime...(which I suspect it will be)...just adjust your placement co-ordinate for the part and be done with it.

I would rather take Bobpan's advise. If the placement is calculated from the center of two fiducials, than the placement should be off by 1/2 of the distance of the two fiducials, but not by the offset of that one fiducial. However, your approach in

Are your placements being placed in the center of the camera crosshairs? If not, you need to fix your head to camera offset. The numbers are kept in a couple of mod codes. You also need to update the configuration file in central controller if the nu
