We are using Universal's Hsc for our production. the problem we are having is we are placing 0402 with a 8mm feeder with a pitch of 2, while running production, the feeder continues to advance with a pitch of 4. anyone have an idea as to why. the com

It's normal for us when we review design. We have found that in the Y axis we need .015" whereas in the X axis we can use .005" spacing. this relates to our nozzle size vs. pickup skew etc... This wouldn't apply if there are parts taller than XXX

the jaws are not for electrical testing do to being two solid stainless steel pieces. i dont really have any issues with 0402's, i got them placing good. its the 0201's that are a pain. attached is a picture of the centering jaws for you to see.

In the next couple of weeks I will be attempting to place 0402's and 0603's using a Quad QSA-30. I am a little nervous as I have heard along the grapevine that the machine struggles in placing the smaller components as they float around in the pocke

you can use whatever you prefer, but they work just fine for us. have not had any problems with 0402 parts anymore, and get more use out of them than the stock jaws. we dont have to replace them as often, and seem to center just fine, and mager diffe

Louie, We'd be interested in your experience with the stainless centering jaws. We just ran a job with heavy 0402 placements, and had a rough time with it. After much work on the package, magazine centering, etc, I've concluded the issue is the ce

Hi all, We are starting to see more and more 0402 components on BOMs of late. We have a small quantity of feeders at the moment which are 8x2 paper. Any 0402 components we have placed have been on these feeders. I noticed that you can get embosse

Picking the 0402 is very important- correct picking will facilitate correct placing. The quality of the feeder is key. I am not familiar with the QSA, but feeder quality is important for all picking 0402 and 0201 components.

Well, it took me a while but I had a look at some gerbers. On a PCB with neighboring 0402's 0.006" apart, and paste reduced 0.75mil on each side, I get lots of bridging. On a later rev of the same PCB, we have neighboring 0402's 0.018" apart, and pa

Hi, follow up, Thanks to everyone that responded. We finished the build, the sun burst thru the clouds and the birds sang. Well that was a slight exageration. Sorry for lack of detail on the original post, I was frazzled. Since the 0201's were p
