I'd start by checking and reteaching the nozzles (this is automatic, it'll measure the nozzle length and vacuum values for each nozzle). After that double check the value you have entered for the PCB thickness as this will impact where the machine t

The placing stroke(mounting press) of the BGA may be too high.Try to reduce the value at the component data.

0402 bridging

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 03 15:45:36 EDT 2015 | ldempsey

Well, it took me a while but I had a look at some gerbers. On a PCB with neighboring 0402's 0.006" apart, and paste reduced 0.75mil on each side, I get lots of bridging. On a later rev of the same PCB, we have neighboring 0402's 0.018" apart, and pa

0402 bridging

Hello all, Some background. We have JUKI machines (FX2, KE2000's and KE3000's) We're looking into an issue with 0402's in close proximity to each other. The paste gets mashed into the paste from adjacent parts. Some have suggested I deviate from

Pick and placement forces

This depends on the model. Most machines and turret style typically overstroke .2mm with a force of 250 - 300 grams of force. the reason for the over stroke is to place the component into the paste. This can be adjusted through part library manipul

I know this is not the answer to your question but it may help until you get the right cleaning process in place. I have found that kneading the paste with 3-4 double strokes during the first print has aided in bring our defective ppm down somewhat.

Panasonic Nozzles

They are actually diamond impregnated tips. The tip can be cleaned using a special jig. this will extend the life. these nozzles are from a machine platform dating back to 1997. The RSS can last for 1,000,000 cycles. SA and MA are similiar but requi

I don't know the specs. of our MSHII's, as I'm sort of detached from that part of the process, but supposedly they are capable. Panasonic also recommends we buy all new feeders (well, big surprise there), because of the risks involved with retrofitti
