ROSE testing pass / fail

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 21 20:15:49 EST 2022 | arminski

since IPC-J-STD-001 RevH obsoleted the 1.56ug/cm2 UCL of ionic contamination tester in testing using ROSE test, how do you define the acceptable limit per PCB assembly? thanks

defects in pcb manufacturing

Just my opinion: Top pic - Solder mask registration WAY too far off, without a doubt I would reject. Bottom pic - I would worry that there was/is a contamination that caused the poor looking mask. This may be cosmetic only, but unknown. I would rej

Re: Ghost circuit shorts under smt resisters only when they are located on solder side of pcb (glued down)

| We are having a process related problem with pullup resistors on a controller card which has a I960 micro-processor. | The controller monitors signal inputs and it's own resources then blinks a LED to indicate its working. The problem is that after

SOIC FAIL

Dear all, The problematic IC being X-rays and shown excellent wetting with no solder voids. Meanwhile the samples to be sent for independent party to verify the failure, e.g. using SAM method. The condition of failure is the PCB assembly fail functi

Motherboard become NO POST when humidity increase to 90%

I agree Patrick many people blame the assembly fluxes when it is some other hygroscopic chemistry left on the bare PCB such as surfactents from the HASL process these will do exactly what the guy reported in his post fail then cool down and pass ever

Hi, Does any body have the experience with wave soldering a "Gold" plated PCB with SMD assembled on it? I`m experiencing massive bridging, icicles,Shadowing & Skipping. The present soldering angle is 6 deg:,pre heating rate is 2 deg/sec , Dwell time

30 Layer PCB with 70% fallout. Are the 30% good?

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 28 15:08:32 EST 2010 | jamyboy

Hello All, Well we have a critical PCB assembly with 30 layers being produced by DDI. We just received word from the PCB shop that this unit only yielded 30% or basically 70% failed. Should we keep the 30% yield or have the shop rebuild al
