Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 27 08:28:05 EDT 2006 | AR

Hi all All you wave soldering people, have you had any trouble in keeping the copper level of your SAC solder pots under control? How do you combat the gradual rise of copper contents owing to dissolution from through-hole component leads etc.?

Agreed, I just bought a Electrovert Vectra Elite and have been very pleased with it thus far. I got the dual pot option for lead free changeovers and that has worked great. I can change pots in under 5 minutes, not counting the time to warm up.

If you think you are having lighting issues, you should do a histogram test. It's under the test user. There is a pot on a power supply that will adjust the brightness. The power supply is right next to the Y axis motor. There should be a brown p

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 16 08:11:39 EST 2005 | rlackey

Hi Dave, Sorry, blonde moment. For our prototype line we decant the paste into a cleaned out pot, that goes under the printer hood, with the lid left on, the rest stays in the fridge until it starts to run down. If we get it wrong we definitely

We are having an issue with the solder bars hanging the solder feeder dripping down the back side of the pot, and leaking in to the area where the terminal block for the elements on the pot are. We have tried aluminum tape to close off the gap betwee

WSOL and solder pot

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 14 11:18:29 EDT 2008 | operator

The way it works is the liquid solder immediatley cures (or should I say burns) the WSOL where ever it touches it. This hardens and keeps it in place and protects whatever is under it. Some of the WSOL falls of in the pot. I am suprised that the burn

I disagree with the others about conformal coating before potting. Some of the softer urethane potting compounds can absorb water leading to caustic nastiness in the voids under the parts. Conformal coating can help fill/seal the voids and keep the n

Hi, Yes, all you really need to do is boil the fluid while suspending the PCB above the vapor, so it's quite easy. However I would recommend against dropping the board direct into the vapor cloud, as that would be a very fast warm up, while letting
