Hi Mike consider buying your LEDs from a value added distributor or sending the to a service house for trimming. It's no trick to cut so that one lead is longer than the other although you may have to pay a tooling charge. These people are equipped

PTH DIP that have been prepped to become SM can be very unreliable, depending on how the part is prepped. Consider asking your customer to do a failure analysis of those solder connections.

Ours are all DLS-340 from Fancort. They don't appear on their website. Your description was accurate. 2 adjustable bearings with a spacer in the middle. Maybe a phone call to fancort might unearth something.

We have used both. They basically operated the same way, the discs are adjustable on the Hakko device as well. It also has a spring to help keep the IC's down on the flat bar. They both perform the same function.

Thanks DWL, we have a board with double sided SMT components now. and there is an intrusive component on the bottom side which is build first. the connector pin is extending out by 0.3mm and this is causing printing issues when building top side. we

We have a need to manually insert, cut and clinch a radial part that is prep close to spec on a board traveling down a standard conveyor. Is anyone aware of such a system? I only know of regan off line.
