I'm with an annoying problem with an IV-c. Almost all the time the Y-axis "stuck" when the machine is homing. The motor tries to move the axis but only make a sound. If I move the axis by hand it can complete the homing and then goes to the IDLE. So

The y-axis on that machine is left to right. If this is the axis you are having a problem with....check the motor. I have had to tighten the tension on it before. If you notice you lose steps after running for a while then this is going to be the iss

You could also try swapping the motion cards. X and Y are swappable I believe. And see if the problem goes to the X. I have had to do that in the past for troubleshooting. It has been awhile since I have touched a IVC, but I loved those machines.

Yes, the left to right movement. The belt looks tight. I will check for loose steps, thanks for the tip. I can't find a mod code for overall speed setting. Do you remember the number?

mod code 53. make it 2...this speed setting is closer to fast than slow.

done, mod code 53, "2" is faster than "1". Actually, it looks like the default "0" setting, but somehow it's working a lot better than the "0". Thanks bobpan, I believe this is the one!
