Mike, I was wondering why you are comparing a 6 head machine (Samsung) to a 3 head machine (i-Pulse). I sort of thought you would look at the M2 to compare to the SM320. Just curious. Darby.

you may have a servo reach pulse error go into mecha check and check zero dev

sorry. re-read your post. The problem is the home sensor relative to the home pulse. You're catching the wrong home pulse. a 10mm offset sounds about right for a 360 degree error. You need 50% +/- 15 % to ensure you always zero to the same phys

Hello, we are evaluating to purchase a new machine for our smt production. Our current favourites are Samsung SM320 or Yamaha/iPulse M4e Please let me know what you think about those machines. Best Regards Mike

What is the (initial position) ratio of pulse counts to home encoder pulse (relative to the home sensor). It should be 50% +/- 15% Run this test several times in between a warm up. I bet your numbers are all over the place. I bet you have a loos

Just for starters you are experiencing a possible closedloop feedback error 1 your motor is on its way out 2 increase the reach pulse in propers 3 check gain of servo mail me for more info

Approx. $220,000 + feeders. So, about the same price as an I-Pulse/Yamaha/Assemblion low range machine + a Pyramax98 + a small printer. Nice idea though! Cheers, Rob.

Hi, Yes you can use a PWM (Pulse Width Modulator). This is much more efficient than a large resistor & gives you good control. Here is a sample for 12V motor control: http://www.homepower.com/files/pwmhp75.pdf

Hi Rick, It was, but there are a few Yamaha machines appearing & remarkably similar looking new machines branded I-Pulse. Cheers, Rob.
