Re: Land Pattern Design for PLCC's, QFP's etc... in Full Radius Corners

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 29 22:30:13 EST 2000 | cklau

Hi guys; There are a few points that should be taken in to considerations regarding IPC-SM-782 land pattern and design rules. As a general rule all SMT reflow pattern should be in comply with SM-782 but however for special cases like : * PLCC land

Mass Lead Trimming of Clinched Leads

Electronics Forum | Thu May 10 19:22:06 EDT 2007 | joeherz

We have a board that requires a .015 - .035" finished lead length which requires us to do mass lead trimming. To this point we've performed this activity on parts with straight leads. We're looking at going to an axial auto-insertion process (outso

Fine Pitch

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 30 17:00:59 EST 2000 | Charles Morehouse

I am interested to know what people prefer for fine pitch packaging. Tape/Reel or Waffle tray for .031", .025", .020", .015" pitch components? What is the most robust packaging (i.e. fewer bent leads, etc.) Chuck

Wiping Fixtures

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 15 21:52:33 EST 2000 | Chuck Garth

A long time ago I had seen wiping fixtures in which the circuit board was placed and fingers bent the leads on the components. Can anyone supply me with their design. I can almost see them work but am missing on the finer points

Flux appearance

Best way to judge how good a profile is by measuring it. It is not real accurate to determine by the amount of residue left. You should be able to tell if the lead is bent causing the open.

QFN32 Vision Type on Fuji FIP3???

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 21 13:23:46 EST 2006 | Tech

Place it as a square. Vision type 10. Why would you even try to inspect leads on this? It's not like they could get bent.

cold joint on 1 lead of IC

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 08 09:58:21 EST 2007 | realchunks

Got a picture? Most times I hear this situation it turns out to be a bent leg on a thru-hole transistor that didn't go through the board.

Burr Brown ICs bad solderability

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 01 13:17:43 EST 2008 | realchunks

Jandon, what is wrong with the picture you posted? Looks good to me? The first pix Wewilldoit posted were kinda scetchy except for the one with the bent up lead. It's not the toe fillets people - it's the heel fillets you have to look at.

CCGA - Stencil design and Reflow Profiling

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 07 02:24:54 EDT 2019 | ameenullakhan

Hi Dave, Yes the lead was there before reflow. After reflow it has bent inside. The component was inspected before placement. We are unable to analyze, what might have went wrong. Regards, Ameen

Lead Lift in QFP

we have observed a Field claim in ECU where root cause is Lead lift found in one of the IC. What could be the possible reason for lead lift and how to avoid the same in future. QFP is the Type 1.Checked the Part Library(3-D Check Refernece no.-23
