automatic insertion of radial components 3.5mm

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 20 05:53:26 EDT 2007 | erhard

Hello all, we are about to modify a Universal Radial 5 so the machine will be able to insert radial components with lead pitch 3.5mm and 5mm. The 3.5mm components are ELCOs which are getting inserted all the way to the component body so they sit fi

Blow holes on radial parts solder joints

On mixed technology PCBs, we find numerous blow holes on the solder joints of radial parts (electrolytics, LEDs, etc). The solution that works so far is to cut the leads very long in the radial inserter so that the part is kinda loose and the air in

We had the same problem years ago when we started using a radial inserter. The inserter would dutyfully insert and clinch the leads. The problem in our case was the component body sealing to the fab, especially on electrolytics caps with a film jac

Manufacturing already tried to get a design change but no chance. I guess because the designer is afraid the components could get bent too much if they are mounted with a stand off. Of course everyone who has to manufacture this fist sais: why don't

Wow. Never have, never would, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be done. Mostly it just seems impossible to design a carrier clip that could hold both well...more likely it would hold one well and the other poorly, or both poorly. Anyway, is there

I have an old Dip inserter that management would like to get running, as it has been sitting for about 5 yrs Not a problem, as it seems in good condition, but i have "inheirited" it from the previous tech, and no one seems to know how to run it or wh

Sorry to bother you guys but I am way out of my leaque here. A tenant left me with a bunch of stuff including a Dynapert vcd-e/k2 inserter and a model b sequencer-- instead of the rent. They light up and move, but this stuff is not what we do. I can'

Support for VC-4H radial machines

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 27 11:38:43 EDT 2003 | samaniegocesar

Hello to all, I would like to know if some of you know where can I get spare parts for TDK Radial insertion machine VC-4H or if you know some web page handling support for this kind of machines, I will apreciate any information and support received.

Do the parts sit directly on the PCB? Typical 2.0 mm Max is desired for the component to be off the PCB. Are stand-offs an option? The long lead wiggles as it passes through the wave and thus agitating the air out.Does your wave a "dancer" option?
