Nitrogen Flow rate on Heller1809MKIII

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 10 05:29:08 EDT 2019 | SMTA-Tiberius

Hi there , We just got a 2000 litre Nitrogen tank for our Heller1809MKIII Reflow Oven , it has been installed and calibrated last week but now the Oxigen PPM doesn't drop below 3000 . Did anybody dealt with this issue before ?

SMD module moving during reflow

In my opinion, fault lies in printing or reflow. With printing - it's either too much solder paste or bad print, though I would assume that would be caught. With reflow, it could be that ramp up rate is too high.

Which AOI machine ?

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 25 04:06:46 EDT 2019 | jlawson

Viscom S3088UltraBlue is a powerful machine and vVision software is modern and easy to use. Great algorithms and power for experienced users to generate custom inspection processes = low false call rates. Viscom been in AOI for 30Y, well made German

SMT Line Utilization Rate

15%? Now I'm curious to see the blog. I know everyone plays games with the numbers to back into something acceptable to management, but 15% seems incredible low, even if you factor out the BS. Hope you find it, my google-fu wasn't good enough.

Reflow Profiling - Cooling Rate?

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 03 13:25:16 EST 2020 | rgduval

We never really "controlled" it, per-se...more a function of the speed coming out of liquidous. But, the accepted best practice is 4°C-6°C/second. Cheers, ..rob

Reflow Profiling - Cooling Rate?

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 10 12:35:11 EST 2020 | emeto

on 10 zone ovens with 3 cooling zones, my negative slope is between 2.5 to 4 deg C/second based on board size and thermal mass.

SMT line expansion - new oven and selective solder

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 25 16:03:44 EST 2020 | kylehunter

Oh no, it's rated at a max of 120A at 208V. We have the power for that. At least the Vitronics is, not sure on the Heller.

Electronic Assembly - PCB cleansing and COVID-19

That's an interesting point about ionizers. They say the primary means of transmission is through droplets suspended in air. I wonder if ionizers kill the virus and what the turn over rate is for a room of a given size.

TOMBSTONE defect Redution suggestion.

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 11 01:01:08 EDT 2020 | rsatmech

Thanks for your response. Yes Tombstone is happening in same direction only. We can't rotate every board since the issue is random and the defect rate is around 0.1% Already using high soak profile. Stencil modification in progress.

TOMBSTONE defect Redution suggestion.

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 23 13:00:08 EDT 2020 | rsatmech

Hi Ameen, As I said before my defect rate is 0.001% and i am planning to reduce the stencil opening only. Will share the result once I implement it. Expected to complete it withing next week. Thank you.
