ah, so just for the record, it's not always the PCB fab shop causing delamination. What a nice way to end a week.

smt common pad 0402 and 1206 package

Electronics Forum | Fri May 06 08:47:05 EDT 2016 | davef

You're correct. This design will have a record amount of 0402 rework for tombstoning and misalignments. Suggest that the pads on each end of all components be the same size in order to balance wetting forces during reflow.

"To qualify the equipment for production use, you need to only do IQ, OQ." Even in a scenario where you're installing a piece of duplicate equipment, how do you demonstrate (and record) that the new machine provides acceptable product?

How to identify any Vibration Source in Reflow Oven

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 02 08:46:29 EDT 2019 | slthomas

A recording accelerometer is about the only thing I can think of. Unless you can find an insulative container (like for a profiler) you'd just have to run it through a cold oven.

BGA Solder Short

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 15 14:32:23 EDT 2023 | emeto

I think this part has terrible thermal balance. I assume in reflow process the part is bending so much that it will cause the shorts you see. I would suggest you get one of these beautiful hi temp cameras and record the reflow process. This video sho

Electronics Forum | Tue May 08 11:23:11 EDT 2001 | rwilliams

I have been tasked with determining the Life of a Solder Stencil and how to track it. (Basically, how do we know when to replace the stencil, E.g., deterioration of print quality, physical damage, etc.) Obviously there are a lot of variables, but is
