MSD Control

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 02 08:19:17 EDT 2004 | Bryan Kerr

One for discussion I think. There appears to be limited options when it comes to the control of moisture sensitive devices through the assembly process, the options being a paperwork based system or the use of RF tracking software. We have some ideas

SMT Device Storage

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 26 02:49:46 EST 2004 | Mike

Help! I have a small SMT section that produces low volume but high mix assemblies and, therefore, has over 300 devices. I am looking for a low cost flexible storage solution and believe I have an idea which I recall is available but I cannot find w

Mydata Agilis Feeders

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 07 15:21:09 EST 2005 | OverTheHill

Ya know, funny things, them thar agilis feeders. I remember them at the APEX 2004 show, I could'nt even get the dam tape started on them (really hung over from the night before, but I'm SURE that was NOT the problem). Mydata's big selling point was t

Mydata Agilis Feeders

Electronics Forum | Sun Mar 05 14:08:33 EST 2006 | grantp

Hi, Your right, and the MYDATA's are much easer to setup, and a lot of it's got to do with them knowing which way a part is oriented, and it makes it a lot easer to know by looking at each part if it's rotated correctly. The Fujis don't do that, and

Shelf Life of Components (solderability)

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 16 08:15:32 EST 2005 | GS

Thank you Dave, that is almost the asnswers we use to give to our Customers when auditing they ask for component shelf life. But as you can imagine, they whant to see a quick information right on the label (on Reels, on trays, etc) like: Use b

Missing components in Reel

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 17 06:56:41 EST 2005 | Grant

Hi, Even if you don't use vision or a HYDRA head, the MYDATA should still sense no component, and try 3 times by default. Also, if the MYDATA does not place the component it will not be marked as places, so the placement program won't ever finish. Y

tape splicing pros and cons

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 22 13:09:16 EDT 2005 | gregp

Thanks for the reply Rob, This we already do. The machine will pick from the most efficient available feeder (assuming multiples of the same part number)...so when you remove the primary it will seemlessly move to the next available. When you re-in

Cover tape tearing

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 15 17:30:42 EST 2005 | GS

Yes Davef, storage condition and long time remaining on shelf could effect pealing strength, but we experimented that by using Polystirene Carrier Tape also this problem was reduced almost to zero. Df, If I am not wrong when you talk about pr

PB FREE WASH AND MATERIAL HANDLING

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 28 16:35:29 EST 2006 | muse95

Did you verify that the new colour of soldermask was RoHS compliant before you switched? I've heard that many aren't, and that switching colours can sometimes mean moving from one that was compliant to one that is not. We internally decided not to

Leader tape on partial reels

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 30 13:53:53 EST 2006 | PWH

We've had poor luck with leaders - inefficient, not cost effective for the price of the parts usually. In my opinion, your best bet is to over-issue parts to a scrap # that works for you (all feeders are different as are machine scrap rates). This
