Not that easy, because of different thicknesses and pitch, almost no two reels are the same unless they have a common vendor and part type. That would require a mylar template for every vendor and for every pitch variant. We sometimes get parts fro

We use this for our measurements: N=(17000(D^2-d^2))/(C*P) N=number of parts on reel D=OD of carrier tape on reel (inches) d=OD of reel core (inches) C=thickness of carrier tape (mils) P=pocket pitch (millimeters) example: 6"OD on 3" core of 40-mil

This might be totally wrong but if your using a 16 pitch reel in a 8 pitch feeder you are going to have to feed the feeder twice before it will be advanced far enough. This should be in your F4G or MCS30.

I am interested to know what people prefer for fine pitch packaging. Tape/Reel or Waffle tray for .031", .025", .020", .015" pitch components? What is the most robust packaging (i.e. fewer bent leads, etc.) Chuck
