Hello, We are having issue with one of the customer board. This is 10 layer PCB FR4 with black solder mask. Coating Ni/Au. Soldering leadfree. We are using 7 zones air reflow oven (zones top&bottom). We have bed solder flowing for this boards. T

I am testing some BGA's (PBGA 30mm x 30mm) to evaluate the maximum ramp rate we can achieve in our reflow oven. Temperature is being measured at the body(top) of the component / not leads. After several trials (with various oven settings), the high

I agree with Evtimov. What he didn't point out is that the surface tension of the solder would vastly overwhelm any force from air flow.

Hi there , We just got a 2000 litre Nitrogen tank for our Heller1809MKIII Reflow Oven , it has been installed and calibrated last week but now the Oxigen PPM doesn't drop below 3000 . Did anybody dealt with this issue before ?

Its not the max temperature that is the issue, its how much energy the oven is capable of transferring to the PCB inside the 4-6 minute window of a typical profile. In a conveyor oven this is achieved by having zones of different temperatures, but th

Unless your machine (internal) thermocouples are each calibrated and compensated no two machines will deliver eactly the same results. Here are your challenges: 1. Data acquisition equipment A-D converter errors 2. PCB measurement thermocouple (t

Hi SMTnetters, I have a white residue coating all over my reflow oven innards (almost looks like white fungus). How can I absolutely be certain that it’s flux and not anything else?are there any tests available for this? I am planning to check the ov

Grease filters work well. They're cheap, easy to clean and come in all sizes. Will not reduce your air flow by much either.

100 CFM at each exhaust if you're using room air, 25 CFM/ea if you're using nitrogen (according to my manual...never used nitrogen myself) per their specified delivery rates.
