Hallo SMTnet. We have just bought a VXS Air 3.2/634 Rehm reflow oven. We are wondering why the conveyor chain in the oven is still running two days after the "Auto OFF" precedure/program has been activated. In this case the oven set to "Auto Off" Fr

Or after a preset amount of time. Maybe the oven has a setting somewhere that is not set propely.

For reflow oven to "auto off" it has to go through the cool down; it should be off went the cool off temperature is reached. Perhaps you need to 1st check if something prevent the oven reach the cool off temp (both hardware & software).

Is there are reason for going for larger (or smaller) boards when designing panels for use with a chain conveyor oven? My panels range from 0.6mm 2 layer (for touch with hatched ground) to 1.6mm 4 layer. I'm planning to go for smaller panels to reduc

I generally do not design an array larger than 10" x 12". Other than just thermal mass, the one issue to watch with extra length is if the array is so large that it spans multiple heat zones at the same time. We have panels that are up to 48" l

10x6 to 12x8 is ideal for most equipment. Too small panel is not good too for handling by humans and machines. 1.6mm you can use as and depanel on the router. 0.6mm you might need to run on SMT carrier, if you see warping.

I worked for Electrovert for 20 years and up till today the 1421 is still the oil of choice. The chain doesn't care who's oven it's running in but it does require regular lubrication.

We use it and have had no issues on either oven. 1 Conceptronics, 1 Heller.
