If its like my wave, the t-couple might not be mounted over a whole where the hot air blow out./ mounting it on the hot plate makes it over heat alot.

I am not sure that how big of your shield, I am using Metcal Soldering System and modify the Metcal Removal Tip to cut into half. I don't want to use hot air and it may damage the component inside.... Rgds. Dason

Hi aram, Hot air is best. IR takes longer and is affected by the color of the part. Best post solder process that affects solder the most is handling.
