Very strange...I just logged into the internet to come post this very question for all the lurking experts. We have a 16 layer rigid-flex that we have never baked. Our board vendor is expressing concern that we do not perform a pre-bake before assy

IPC-FA-251 recommends 121*C for 30-60 minutes for 1 and 2 flex layer circuits. A rigid flex can take easily an hour per layer depending on the construction.

| I'm not sure about limits but perhaps underfilling the BGA might easy your mind. Treat the BGA as something similar to a flip chip and dispense underfill around the part. The rigidity gained by the cured underfill may be enough to alleviate some

Has anybody had experience in depanelising Rigid-Flex pcbs? If so what equipment do you use?

What SWAG said. We use a PCB Router exclusively for rigid flex assemblies. On a side note, we have begun to save fixturing costs by using 3D print technology to produce many of the fixtures, for both rigid and rigid flex. We can design and print l

Hi We sent pcbs through wave with Flex thermal masked. And its successful. Thanks
