The manufacturer says that since this solder paste has synthetic flux (not natural rosin) it is sensible to humidity. Worked with reflow profiles, but no remarkable improvements. We are changing solder paste every 2 hours.

We are using an inline aqueous washer with saponifier to clean smt assemblies with rosin based no-clean solder paste. Looking for a reliable, cost-effective way to monitor the cleanliness of the assemblies after cleaning. Any recommendations?

So why are you telling us about the solder bar? What is the flux? that is what you need to change, you have a rosin based flux it sounds like. you can change probes in test fixtures or change flux chemistries. Russ

Dave, our facility does only military and aeorspace contracts, we still use only tin/lead solder and 186 Rosin Flux, so this info is just what I need. Thanks for your imput.

Are there significant diffrences in terms of soldering (wire for manual solder) performance by using RO vs RE fluxes? Wich are the main differences between the two fluxes? Thank you Regards.....GSx

At the end of the day, you won't notice a difference, while soldering, but if you clean the flux residues.

Well, everyone has provided good advice, but if you are looking for a wave flux that can provide much better dwell times and consistent wetting throughout the hole fill, without making adjustments to your production process, I suggest going with Senj

Have used IC for years, but I'm not familiar with that, ROSE maybe. Its a stretch, but maybe R/O/I would be rosin/resin, organic, or inorganic for the type flux being used?
