Depaneling round pcb

We have a similar board and came up with a quick and dirty solution. The board locates via pins onto a manual desk press with strategically placed feet to break the mouse bite. Not really much quicker than doing it all by hand, but after a thousand p

yngwie, are you getting a wave from the customer to say it's not your fault you fried the parts? Profiling's one of those things that is a pain to dobut it's one of the most important factors in the assembly processes. I've read and seen instances w

Hello all, I read about Steve's headache a few articles back and I'm really interested by his tip. However, I'm still wondering why square apertures release solder paste better than round ones. For the same volume of paste, the surface area of th

Yes!!! How can we assemble boards with 20 pitch when we allow 0.008 error to the master art? Excellent question!!! IPC-D-300G has nothing to do with assembler requirements. It is written by and for fabricators, so that they can be comfortable.

Dave, We are using tab nibblers right now, but they have a hard time with round boards. FKN has a model(N200) that shears the tabs off. The cost is fairly low(3K). I just wanted to know if there are any other brands out there that might work on rou

Has anybody ever seen round solder lands for 0603 chip components? I've got a new board to build and it has round lands. I've asked the design enegineer why he chose round lands. Waitin for the answer. And the funny thing is all the 0603 chips don't

Re: Placement Equipment for 17 x 23 Backplanes?

Use Mydata. I've built huge backplane boards, round boards, 1/4" thick boards, 1"X24" boards, 1"X1" boards, L-shapes boards; all without any carriers or tooling. If you buy a MY15 you can increase the board size to 5'X2' (60"X24")... As for ovens,

VME Assemblies

I realize this is a SMT forum, but I have another problem related to electronics assembly and hope there will be someone out there that can save my life (this time). We build quite a few VME assemblies to which we attach a SAM board. Fairly standard
