Alternatives to v-score or mouse-bites?

Electronics Forum | Tue May 11 18:59:36 EDT 2021 | rgduval

It's annoying, but, the last time I was faced with a similar issue, we ended up sanding the edge on the PCB after depanelization. I stronly recommend charging for this service. It could be sped up by using a Dremel fixed in a vice, but, I would cau

sip pins for smt board

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 22 23:45:37 EDT 1999 | Jim Cristiano

Hi, I'm looking for vendors that manufacture connector pins that would solder onto the edge of a small SMD pcb so that I can mount it as a SIP onto a larger PCB. Better yet, are there small diameter pins that can be soldered into thru-holes so the SM

PCB residue after wave solder

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 28 06:39:29 EDT 2009 | sachu_70

I had seen such effect caused by the wave itself, where the exposed wave surface was coated by a thin dull oxide layer which then adhered to the bottom side of PCB during wave soldering. You could verify if the wave surface is clean metal when the P

Re: gold fingers over wave

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 14 09:36:49 EST 2000 | Richard

If the gold fingers are pad types which plug into expansion slot connectors, I have used a titanium guard attached to the wave conveyor over the solder pot, which allows the PCB to connect to the fingers but masks the solder from the gold pads along

Re: PCB Support

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 30 12:20:35 EST 1999 | Wolfgang Busko

Hi Steve, is it possible for you to get more than one PCB in a panel and separate them after assembly. Some kind of framepiece for support at the affected edge later to be separated should do it as well. My first ideas Wolfgang

DEK Stencil image offset?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 24 02:57:05 EDT 2009 | fede

I use Center Edge, and adjust stencil offset. It's very easy, you just have to give it the PCBs width. An other advantage is that If your PCB has scrap strips, and you lose them, or PCB changes, you can print it anyway.

Way to solve PCB warpage

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 10 23:05:32 EST 2011 | aungthura

Hi Eadthem Your way isn't work for our big size Board(620x440x7mm).After pressing the Alu Bars on the edges, the warpage happened more wider. So, we r using clamps to adjust PCB expension. Anyway, thx for sharing.

Depaneling method

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 14 14:16:22 EDT 2016 | joelperez

Has anyone use both methods of depaneling on PCB breaktabs? meaning v-score at the edge of the pcb and mouse bites on the opposite side of the tab (break out panel)? Thanks

Solder balls on solder side!!

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 28 03:57:46 EST 2001 | peterbarton

Are you using a water based flux? Are the solder balls mainly around or near non-plated holes or near the edges of the PCB? If so the preheat must be set so the water content of the flux is fully evaporated before the board hits the solder wave. If
