No. The Sitest button is greyed out. Can I install a regular windows version of NT 4.0, or does it have to be a Siemens version of windows?

You have to install the RMOS to MC's HDD. The RMOS Version must match with the station software. After Install RMOS you have to perform machine distribution.

I think it is in the ideal.ma or actual.ma file. You could also use the first RMOS boot disk. This will ask you for it there.

I just had to replace the hard drive in the SC and the MC. I partitiones the MC drive and installed all operating systems. The machine boots up and gets past "software booting", "conversion of machine data", and then hangs on "initializing machine"

Chris, It's been a while since I used a Siemens, but I was thinking its starting communication to Gantries, tables, and WPC for Axis zeroing. Like I said its been awhile! When replacing drive, did you copy the *.ma files back to the drive? Tom

ON the older S15's you booted Stest from a floppy. On newer machines you have the capabilities to switching to Stest without rebooting, Although you must be logged in as admin/Service Engineer. Thats why your button is greyed out. Try logging on in s

Thanks for all the help. I have decided to clone the 2 hard drives from my good machine and put them in the broken machine. That will get my machine running but the 2 machines will be addressed the same. Does anyone know what files to change to re
