Thank you for your suggestion. I checked these link, but did not find equivalent encoder for replacement. My renco encoder is for Servo motor of Contact 3AVX machine. Did you know about this machine? Regards,

no problem at all, just the servo motors and ball bearings they have cost more than what I ask for the complete machine :)

Possibly a loose grub screw on one of the shafts controlling rotation or the sensor ot gray code wheel on the rotation servo motor. or even a small fault in the program eprom, Good luck sarason

Got it. Servo tuning is new to us, so we'll try it. When you propose to swap the Y axis amps, do you refer to the driver that controls the Y motors? Thanks,

All ready resolved. Looks like there was a loose cable on one of the modules, which would not allow it to command the low voltage servo module to run the motor in reverse.

Issue was solved by replacing servo motor/encoder wiring harnesses. Hooking a scope up to the head showed we were losing steps.
